Our original Edwardian red brick farmhouse – McCormick House – was originally home to local surveyor and shopkeeper James McCormick and his family who settled on the property in 1876.
McCormick was built from bricks made on the property in the 1880s. The intricate brickwork and relatively sophisticated design of McCormick House sets it apart from other farmhouses in the region, which are typically made from timber. It also represents, by its size and construction, a time of relative prosperity in the area as well as being a physical reminder of the McCormick family who are still remembered in the area.
The house sits at the top of the driveway and is surrounded by a sprawling rose garden and makes for a stately entrance to the property. It was renovated in 2009 and now provides the ideal backdrop for a garden wedding or an intimate event - a dinner party, high tea or business meeting - any occasion that calls for that homely touch.
